wxDownload Fast (also known as wxDFast) is an open source download manager. It is multi-platform and builds on Windows(2k,XP), Linux and Mac OS X(binary still not available). Besides that, it is a multi-threaded download manager. This means that it can split a file into several pieces and download the pieces simultaneously.

Created in C++ using the wxWidgets(wxWindows) library.

ALERT: There is a malware using the name wxdownload (or wxdownloadmanager). The malware site use some of the original screenshots and texts. Be carefully. The wxDownload Fast original files are aways hosted in SourceForge.net

At the moment, there are some users trying to build the wxDownload Fast on OS X.
But there are some problems that need to be fixed before the Mac build become usable
(The programs builds, but for some reason the interface become blocked).

I'm happy to announce that the 'wxDownload Fast' project reached 100000 downloads since his first release. I know that some projects get this numbers in a few days. But for a small project managed by a single guy (me), that work in the project just a few hours a month this is a big deal.
But It's important to say that this number is possible thanks the several users around the world, that use the program and help me to improve it every day with your suggestions and bug reports. And of course, I give a special thank to all the translators that make the program reach all this countries, to Erno Szabados for the great RipStop theme and to Anthony Brian for his tips.

Advanced Download Manager For Mac

This new release improve the stability. The changes are:

  • Fixed bug that change the first item of the finished list, when the user click in 'Open destination directory'

  • Made a total change on mDownloadFile class, making the class more encapsulated. This class keeps the download data.
