Can be used hands free. I read on a Mckesson website this machine has the capability to weigh up to 400 pills every 10 seconds. I spoke with a Mckesson technician who told me this scale is accurate to +/- 1 pill per 1000 when dealing with small pills, even more accurate for larger pills. The balance scale mode is so accurate I was able to weigh a grain of salt.
